Wow! These reasons to blog are fascinating. It really caters to individuals needs. It makes learning fun and very influential. My attention was caught by the “authentic audience”. It seems that everybody can view and make comments on what the student has contributed. Also, parents can gauge if their child is progressing in his performance or not. I love it. Teachers can make comments out right. Students can update and correct immediately. There is a lot of practice in writing which may include organization of thoughts and grammar practice as well. Teachers should encourage the students to work as a team or in pairs for proofreading before publishing. This is to avoid embarrassment. Let us not forget that the audience is the whole world. Many students hate to read books because it is not really their interest. But with blog, students are ever eager to read the responses and ideas of their friends and classmates about their postings which is a good motivation to them to read. It is then time for the students who are shy to shine and be recognized for expressing what they feel, tell stories about their pet or favorite movie maybe and may find someone out there with the same interest. They can exchange ideas and can even have a resource person who can help them with any homework related to other culture aside from the culture they are in to. Students are eager to help. The use of blog should really be encouraged to enhance learning

ReplyDeleteI didn't realize how much blogging could help students express themselves in the classroom. This blog was full of possibilities!
